Sandra M. Duverge,
is the Executive Director of FIND
and the parent of two young men.
She accepted the position of Executive
Director in October of 2007 after serving
on the advisory board of FIND. Sandra’s
background as a teacher of 9 years and as a Parent Consultant at First Steps for 4 years has given her experience in working with families and children with and without disabilities.
Knowing her rights helps her advocate for children’s education. She looks forward to working with families, agency staff and other professionals. Sandra oldest son, Gabriel, is a student at the University of Louisville. Sebastian is sixteen and has Autism. He is a sophomore at Jeffersontown High School.
Kathy Jacobs
has worked in the non-profit
field for over a dozen years
and truly has a passion for
helping individuals obtain
needed services. Kathy
holds a degree in Business
Management and has been involved with Rotary, Metro United Way and other community groups.
Kathy is the parent of three grown sons. Oldest son, Joe, lives in Minneapolis, youngest son, Nate, lives in Nashville and middle son, Scott lives in a group home in Illinois. Born with Down Syndrome 33 years ago, Scott has matured and grown tremendously since he’s gained the independence of living with this friends and excelling at his job.
Leo Provan
joined the FIND staff in
Feb 2010 as a Parent Support
Specialist. She holds a BA in
English. She taught ESP
(English for Specific Purposes)
at Universidad Las Condes, and
English at Linguatec Language
School, both in Santiago, Chile, where she grew up. She became a Craniosacral Practitioner and a Reiki Master Teacher to help her 15 year old son who happens to have Cerebral Palsy and Autism. She practices both healing disciplines at her private practice A Ray of Hope. Leo worked on an intensive home program with her son Lawrence for six years building skills that would allow him to participate in school. Lawrence stood up and took his first steps at the age of six and joined the school system in 2005. Leo is passionate about supporting children, teens and adults with disabilities and their families on their unique paths. She believes that any child becomes a successful learner when we nurture their potential and provide them with the appropriate support.
Leo brings to FIND her experience and knowledge as an educator and the mother and advocate of her own special needs son. As well as her compassionate support from her healing work.
