The Issues
IDEA
The Individuals with Disabilities Act was reauthorized in 1997 with an emphasis on strategies and guidelines that strengthen the partnerships and cooperation of the IEP team for better choices the our children with disabilities.

Learn how to negotiate and become better prepared for  IEP meetings and follow up sessions so that your child will benefit from a better education.

Section 504
The Section 504 plan functions in place of an IEP plan and covers a much broader base of issues. Still if a public domain receives federal funds, the Section 504 can help with supports and services for someone with a disability during and after they have left school.

IEP's
Individual Education Plans are just that - Individual ! It is the best laid out plans an IEP team can provide. It is not lock in stone and can change at any time a team member, especially a parent, deems it necessary.
